dirty bathrooms, leaking taps, dirty classrooms, human trafficking, crime, theft, bullying, pollution, bullying

Bullying, because each and every student at school is suffering because of bullying and it affects the learners who are being bullied.

Schoolmates - they cannot focus at school - They fear coming to school because of the bullies - Even though they tell on the bullies, nothing is being done to protect them

- Talking to the principal about the bullies - approach the the bullies - Create awareness on bullying - make a box which learners who are being bullied can use to talk about their bullying experience and even get help - Ask Childline to come to school to assist us with the victims of bullying and and the bullies - To ask for social workers who will help talk to learners who need help

Step 3DO

1. We talked to the principal about our project 2. We then addressed the school students at the assembly about bullying 3. After that the group created awareness posters about the rights and wrongs of bullying 4. The teachers assisted in calling childline for us so that they can assist in bulling at school 5. We created a box where students can secretly write anything about their bulling problems at school without anyone knowing.

1. Learners started to realize the effects of bulling 2. Learners were being aware of bulling at school so they were even reporting the bulling even they saw. 3. Learners were reporting bulling without fear 4. There was less bulling at school 5. Teachers and school learners were supportive in our project

Learner: I am very happy that I am able to report bullying without fearing that I will be beaten by bullies. Learner: I used to be scared of my bully. Now I am being supported by my schoolmates because they know that bullying is wrong

It was very difficult to get Childline to help us at school. We are still waiting for their response. Some of our posters were being damaged by learners who did not want to cooperate.

Bullying of other learners show that there is injustice and the bullied are not at peace.

Step 4 SHARE

We talked to the principal. We had a meeting with the SGB and parents. We talked to the learners at the assembly. We made posters and put them around the school to keep everyone aware. We also made a video to inform everyone about our project.
