Students - the lack of opportunities to connect with professionals to discuss crucial matters that bother them.

Describe very briefly the process of implementing your solution(s).

A group of youth leaders came together to brainstorm ways of creating a digital platform for youth voices where children can publicly speak to adults and peers about what matters to them.

What was the result or impact of your project?

A digital platform was formed called Malaysian Youth Exchange Dialogue Series (MYxChange), where youths are able to speak about issues they feel deeply about while being able to build their capacity and learn new skills that are needed in the 21st century. Each monthly episode falls on a specific United Nations International Day and the children will host 10-minute LIVE interviews (bite-sized conversations) in each episode. Children will be able to publicly speak to adults and peers about what matters to them, in SAFE ONLINE spaces.

The MYxChange programme is able to provide additional benefits to the students apart from their school education. At the core of this program is inspiring children to make their voices heard and empowering them to build their self confidence, creating knowledge that can also benefit other children, whilst keeping them informed, engaged and contributing to important conversations as GLOBAL CITIZENS.

Step 4 SHARE

How did you share your project with your school and community? Who did you share your project with? What was their response?

The students that participate in the MYxChange programme share about their interviews by creating posters using CANVA which are then shared on social media. The interviews are also streamed LIVE on facebook where other students are free to comment and post their thoughts.

Briefly share your plan to sustain the impact of your project?

The MYxChange programme will be moving to a more local level where episodes will be featured on a weekly basis with students interviewing their local heroes.
